This Privacy Policy explains how CTG SIM (“we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, and protects information in connection with CTG SIM (the “Software”). We keep data collection to what we need to provide the Software, and we do not sell your personal information.
1. Information we collect
- Account information. When you create an account for online access, we collect your email address and authentication details through our identity provider, Google Firebase Authentication.
- Payment information. Purchases are processed by Stripe. Stripe collects and handles your card and billing details directly; we do not receive or store full payment card numbers. We retain a record of your order and subscription status.
- Shipping information. If you order a USB drive, we collect the shipping address you provide at checkout in order to fulfill and deliver it.
- Usage and device data. We may collect basic technical information, such as browser type, device, and log data, to operate, secure, and improve the Software.
The offline desktop application (USB license) runs locally on your computer and does not require an account or send your simulation activity to us.
2. How we use information
- To provide, maintain, and secure the Software and your access to it;
- To process payments, subscriptions, and USB drive orders;
- To respond to support requests and communicate about your account;
- To detect, prevent, and address fraud, abuse, or technical issues;
- To comply with legal obligations.
3. Service providers
We share information only with the processors that help us run the Software, under agreements that protect your data:
- Google Firebase: authentication and data storage.
- Stripe: payment processing and subscription billing.
These providers process your information on our behalf and in accordance with their own privacy terms. We do not sell your personal information or share it for third-party advertising.
4. Cookies and similar technologies
The online version uses cookies and similar local-storage technologies that are necessary to keep you signed in and to operate the Software. We do not use them for advertising.
5. Data retention
We keep account and order information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Software, comply with our legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. You may request deletion of your account as described below.
6. Your choices and rights
You may access or update your account information, cancel your subscription at any time, and request that we delete your account and associated personal data. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under laws such as the GDPR or CCPA, including rights to access, correct, delete, or restrict processing of your data. To exercise any of these, reach us through our contact form and we will respond within a reasonable time.
7. Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect information against unauthorized access, loss, or misuse. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, however, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
8. Children’s privacy
CTG SIM is intended for clinical educators, students, and professionals. It is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.
9. International users
We operate from the United States, and our service providers may process information in the United States and other countries. By using the Software, you understand that your information may be transferred to and processed in those locations.
10. Changes to this Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by the “Last updated” date above and, where appropriate, by additional notice.
